Don't Wear White Tights
Because they make you look like a little girl, give you stumpy legs, make your shoes look terrible, are ugly, and make Roxy cry.
(It was also nearly 70 degrees the day I snapped this picture. There was no reason on earth to be wearing tights at all, nevermind white ones.)

Those tights are perfectly fine. Maybe not the most stylish look in the world, but it's not earth-shatteringly hideous either. Here's a suggestion for your next post: "Don't be bossy."
ReplyDeleteAww, Anonymous, the whole point to us is that we're bossy. We know what people should not do, that's why we're here to share it with the world. I bet you'll get angry when we start talking about pantyhose with open toed shoes too.
ReplyDelete1:32: You forget "Don't be condescending." But then, I doubt they realize that's what they're doing. They're also great at stating the obvious! They're really not as wise as they think they are, they just posted a pic of a complete stranger on the internet. Doesn't matter that you can't see her face, it's still tacky.
ReplyDelete1:32 isn't a troll. You keep saying that word; I do not think it means what you think it means.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I had no idea people felt so strongly about white tights! Oh, Anon #2, we always know when we're being condescending.
ReplyDeleteAnd I kind of enjoy being tacky, frankly.
8:37: Agreed. They keep saying they have trolls, but they're the only ones acting like trolls here.
ReplyDeleteThis topic is so 2008. And borderline plagiarism.

I am fairly certain no one is saying "Troll." Here. BE MOAR SUBTLE, Y'ALL.
ReplyDeleteWell who else did you expect to read your blog?
ReplyDeleteOh man, I haven't laughed this hard in weeks. Thanks, Anons!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend thinks the same with me. He is eight years older than me, lol. We met online via~ A g e g a p s in g l e s~ .~ c o m ~a nice place for younger women seeking older men, or older women seeking younger men, to interact with each other. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends
ReplyDeleteIt is possible that the person might have varicose veins. On a warm day out it might be uncomfortable to wear dark support hose/tights and so they choose to wear something lighter.
ReplyDeleteWow sorry to see you are already getting anonymous haters!! I, for one, think you all are hilarious and always right on the money with your advice. How dare you be funny and entertaining! Have you no sense of decency?

I, not anonymously, have the following comment (regarding tights or pantyhose on a 70 degree day). I have often, over the past 2 weeks, put on one cozy, warm outfit in the morning (because it has still been in the 30s at 5:30 when I'm waking up) and a winter coat, then discover at 6 pm when I leave work that I need about 2 fewer layers. I hate that about this time of year.
ReplyDeleteOh people, any definition of troll would include anonymous posters who make a point to insult us, but we are so sorry for hurting your feelings by calling you trolls, and we are even sorrier that your insults only crack us up. Apparently calling people on their bad fashion sense REALLY upsets them. I'm just glad that the troll fest didn't happen in the Don't Threaten to Murder Me post!
ReplyDeleteAthena, I totally feel you on the frustrations of spring weather. I'm constantly putting on and taking off scarves and cardigans, and arguing with myself about which coat to wear when I leave the house, because I know it's going to be a completely different world in eight hours. Spring is tricky, no doubt about it.
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite issue when it comes to spring weather -- I am consistently way too optimistic about the weather, so as soon as we get one bright and sunny day, I think that it's going to be like that until November. Therefore, I'll confidently sally forth in a cotton dress, a light scarf and a cardigan as long as it's not raining, and then freeze to death all day long.
ReplyDeleteDon't listen to haters... Women, please wear white tights. If fact please feel free to wear any color tights or pantyhose. Bare legs with a dress and heels look terrible!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure white tights are "in style"?? Plus, she doesn't have fat legs - which is the only time white tights are bad, imho.
ReplyDeleteHow can you say white tights make one's shoes look ugly?! Especially a pair like in the photo, they make shoes look great (even boring flats) - get Mary Janes with a bit of a heel, and white tights set them off perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they make you look like "a little girl"... maybe cute in a "pure" kind of way, but nothing wrong with that :).
White tights can look very elegant if done with the right outfit. Banishing any color outright is childish.
ReplyDeleteWhy not wear what we want and not worry about what anyone says or if its in style or not
